Grower/Retailer Invitation
to participate in the 2010 Plants of Distinction Marketing Program

The VNLA Beautiful Gardens Plant Introduction Program will be promoting the following list of plants as their 2010 'Plants of Distinction' selections.

Cercis Canadensis 'Hearts of Gold'
Buxus sempervirens 'Dee Runk'
Corylopsis pauciflora 'Goldleaf Buttercup Winter Hazel'
Dryopteris erythrosora 'Brilliance'
Eucomis 'Sparkling Burgundy'
Rudbeckia subtomentosa 'Henry Eilers'
Schizachyrium scoparium 'The Blues'
Thermopsis chinensis 'Sophia'
Yucca filamentosa 'Color Guard'

These plants were selected because of there hardiness, beauty and real potential for increased sales.
It is the purpose of the Beautiful Gardens program to help you sell more plants.
We encourage you to include your company in the growing of one or more of these plants for 2010.

We anticipate having (30) participating independent retail garden centers in 2010.
Having your name on the list as a grower of Beautiful Gardens plants can get the attention of garden center buyers to buy additional plants from your inventory!

We will not be requiring the purchase of tags for 2010 for the 'plants of distinction'.
The tags will be replaced by additional on site posters and ID cards.
New plants from the Beautiful Gardens program scheduled for 2012/2013 'will' require the use of BG tags.

Please consider being a part of the Beautiful Gardens program!
It's good for your business, it's good for the VNLA and it's good for Virginia!

Please call or email me with your decision to participate and the plants you will have available for the 2010 promotion.

2009 'plants of distinction' will continue to be promoted in 2010.
